To help you relax and strengthen your mind and body, the National Fitness Center in Oak Ridge offers a private studio for Yoga and Pilates.

Yoga and Pilates are similar disciplines in that they both emphasize stretching, specific poses, breath control and body posture. Both are low impact methods of exercise designed to enhance:

  • Relaxation
  • Strength
  • Balance
  • Flexibility
  • Posture

They differ in that Pilates places more emphasize on your core muscles (such as those in your abdomen, back and thighs).
